Todd Felts brings unmatched experience working with law firms in building business development and communications initiatives.
As a former senior business development executive at one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, Todd helps clients pursue cross selling opportunities, find new clients and markets, and organize aggressive communications strategy.
Currently, Todd is a professor of public relations in the Reynolds School of Journalism and National Center for Courts and the Media at the University of Nevada Reno.
Todd spent five years working in Washington, DC for Levick Strategic Communications, where he consulted many of the world’s largest law firms including Jones Day, Holland + Knight, and specialty firms like Banner Witcoff and Bowman and Brooke in business development, media relations and crisis communications. He has also led communications efforts for large international companies.
Todd has won various awards for developing firm-wide initiatives that secured unprecedented media coverage for law firms including the “Flying Lawyers” and “You’ve Come a Long Way Baby.” He is also the author of legal articles on marketing the law firm that are published regularly in a variety of national legal trades.
Prior to moving to Washington in 1999, Todd was Director of Community Relations for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Raleigh, NC, and Deputy Press Secretary and Speechwriter to Governor Jim Hunt of NC.
Todd earned an M.A. in Liberal Studies and International Affairs from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Communications from Lenoir-Rhyne College.
