Senior partners told their young colleagues all about the importance of developing new business if they ever want to be partners themselves. But with relatively little work experience, and even less in marketing, they floundered.

One attorney opened his law school alumni bulletin and noted that a graduate was promoted to a senior IP position at a global company. First he congratulated his fellow alumnus on the promotion.
